Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers concise easy-to-master techniques to cook at home in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has worked for a time in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary tradition and its landscape. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. As a youngster, growing up in New York's Upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. After obtaining an English and Communication diploma in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her interest in the business of restaurant by enroling as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America has been a great adventure. I couldn't learn enough couldn't achieve enough and couldn't push myself enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy studying at Italy's Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. In her time in Italy she grew to truly comprehend and appreciate the philosophy behind Italian food and culture that has had a profound impact in her perspective. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps children with obstacles. As a guest speaker and mentor she travels across the U.S. to share her culinary passion and professional career. Anne has, through her whole experience in the kitchen, has declared that it's an honor to be in a position to share this passion for life with others.
